This is Desi Lasagne recipe from my kitchen with Mutton mince. Mozzarella and Cheddar are the 2 beauties that I have basically used in this dish to whip up the most goeey and Cheesy Desi Lasagne ever.
The best part about it was that it was a complete meal after Iftaar. It was pretty much hassle free and effortlessly done. Owing to the scorching heat in this Season, this was quite a relief as well. And it was extremely easy too.
And also the other important fact was that it suffices the whole family too including a few sudden guests or even relatives.
It's absolutely amazing. Not only it's delicious, it's a bliss.
If you have Lasagna sheets with you, you are good to go. A perfect one for easy Dinner in Ramadan. And my family just loves it not only in Ramadan but on any day round the Year.
I did it a bit in my style without compromising on the authentic recipe much. All in all, the taste is what matters in the end and also the happiness and the contentment on your loved ones faces. Ingredients and spices that need to be Prepare to make Meat under Sheets:
- 24 Lasagna sheets
- 1 kg Mutton mince
- 2-3 chopped Onions
- 5-6 chopped Tomatoes
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 5-6 chopped Garlic Cloves
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Black Pepper powder
- 2 tsp Salt
- 10-12 ground Peppercorns
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1 tbsp Red Chilli flakes optional
- 3 tbsp chopped Parsley or Coriander Leaves
- 3-4 cups Amul Mozzarella and Cheddar Cheese Blend
Steps to make to make Meat under Sheets
- In a cooking pot, heat olive oil and butter first. Add garlic mince and saute for a minute before adding onions.
- Saute them until light pink in colour. Now add the mince along with ground pepper and cumin powder.
- Saute it for a minute or two and add Mutton mince. Give all a good stir and add fresh tomato puree. Or you can even blanch fresh tomatoes and de skin them and use the pulp after mashing well. Use tomatoes according to your choice.
- Do not add a single drop of water. The meat gets cooked in it's own juices and allow it to simmer on a low heat for about 12-15 minutes with a lid on. Also add half of the quantity of salt mentioned.
- Meanwhile boil Lasagne sheets with the other half of the quantity of salt mentioned. Boil them for 8 to10 minutes and drain. Preheat oven on 180°.
- Now comes the assembling part. In a baking dish, add the cooked mince. Followed by a few sheets of lasagne preferably 4-5. You can do it depending upon the size of your dish. And finally top it up with both the cheese.
- Follow this layering style and the top layer should be that of the Mince with a generous topping of Cheese. Sprinkle some Oregano and Italian seasoning and cover it up with a butter paper or an aluminium foil.



- Bake for 25 minutes until the top looks golden in colour and smells heavenly. Cut into rectangles and serve piping hot directly from the oven to the plate to relish it's awesome flavour and texture.
